I walked into the Horizon Casino and stopped dead in my tracks, taking in the changes in the scenery... these people never cease to amaze me. It seems like every time I turn around they have added yet more toys for gamblers to tinker with. This week's additions included Monster Money, and a new 5-coin nickel progressive, Blondie... complete with graphics of the famous sandwich and topped off with Dagwood, too. Rumblings in the pipeline tell me that much more is in store for the future, and big change is in the wind.
Caesars Tahoe has a new toy department too... still being finished up at press time... the word for the folks who remember the large Sports Book and Race Book, will be crying, "Honey, who shrunk the book?" because it was remodeled and scaled down, the space newly created to use as a new slot area, with 150 new slot machines. It looks comfortable. The neon yellow Nissan Frontier 4X4 that used to adorn the area as the jackpot for a nickel slot bank is now the latest giveaway--and only one part of it. It has been paired with a red Mustang convertible... Details available at the Emperor's Club booth and who knows... maybe you could win them both?
Harrah's Lake Tahoe has the most graceful manner of carrying on massive indoor remodeling projects without disturbing much of anything. They reopened the North Beach Deli, and they moved the keno section back by the deli in some elegant new digs, there is new carpet, and it looks very very good. It is my understanding that the whole enchilada won't be completed until sometime in mid-May. As usual, I find myself in total awe at the way they get it done so well in so short a time. Results will be, no doubt, spectacular.
Harveys has had a lot of games going on in the poker room lately, some running way into the wee hours of the morning. Being the only poker room on the south shore of Lake Tahoe has it's advantages... and the great staff doesn't hurt either. Harveys also seems to always be there for me when I need a large dose of brain food.... I got to enjoy the fare at the Seafood Grotto inside Harveys last night... and for someone who usually hates coconut, I dug into some coconut batter fried prawns that were to absolutely die for. THANKS....
Lakeside Inn has some fat progressive quarter keno jackpots growing, and still offers some really great room night package deals that include fun, food, and lodging. They have the 31-TV sports book that was just completed last year, and offer great fun and food... and a really great bunch of employees that brighten my day every time I enter.
NOW FOR THE EXCITEMENT AND WONDER AT THIS END...
For those of you who have followed my progress and struggles keeping the TahoeGamingGuide.com above water in treacherous and uncharted seas. Your letters of support and shared enthusiasm kept me from sinking, and I owe you all a big thanks. I have sold the Tahoe Gaming Guide, the Reno Gaming Guide, and the Las Vegas Gaming Guide. It was a move that had to be made to give the sites what they need and to provide better content for the gamblers... and location. What better place to put the kids to grow.... infrastructure was always badly needed and unavailable. Look for some very big happy happenings in the near future.
BUT THE GREAT NEWS IS THAT I STILL GET TO MAINTAIN THE PAGES... so while there will be some redesigning that has to be done to integrate the sites with their format, much will remain the same. While there may be some time down during the transfer, it is hoped that you will continue to visit... the jackpots from Tahoe are staying, and hey, if you want to see the progressive jackpots online daily from Las Vegas, Reno, Laughlin, or Sparks... drop me an email! If enough of you want to see the jackpots from the other places, we can convince them! Come... Gamble Tahoe with me!
