Tahoe Still Has a "Money Leak"

20 October 2000

Okay... If you are looking for nano-seconds that weigh in your favor, you might ought to consider the casinos in Lake Tahoe. $400,000 isn’t chump change! Caesars Tahoe turned out the latest large jackpot when someone hit a royal flush that netted them a whopping $400,000! Everywhere I turn in Tahoe, the money is still making its way into the pockets and purses of those lucky enough to be in the casinos on the south shore of Lake Tahoe.

The Horizon Casino Resort is now an official sponsor of the TahoeGamingGuide.com, and I want the whole world to know that if you are looking for a fun and friendly place to visit, this is it. Noted for their recent large jackpot winners: $7.7 million on Megabucks, then $415,000 on Quarter’s Deluxe, and right behind that a $50,000 keno winner! Coming up on Halloween is the Freaker’s Ball. You haven’t seen anything if you haven’t seen the all-out costumes that people assemble for this one. And Horizon has a really great International Buffet that won’t set your wallet out, but will definitely leave you stuffed... You are in the right place! You can access more info from their progressive jackpots page!

Lakeside Inn is preparing for their $10,000 Slot and Video Poker Tournament on Saturday October 21st. I am going to participate in this one... They don’t get any better than this... And there are lots of details on their progressive jackpots page of the TahoeGamingGuide.com, including lodging and food specials. They also have the new "Tavern" with its shiny new SportsBook... And 31 televisions to make sure you catch the whole game! They have some great parlay cards, and the easiest access of any south shore casino...on the ground floor.

Harveys is continuing its "Live Legends" concert series in the intimate setting of the Cabaret Theater... Only 300 seats... And October 20th and 21st is Mitch Ryder. Coming up on November 3rd is the final round of the "Play a Year on Us" tournament, and someone is going to walk away with $100,000 worth of Reel Rewards cards. There is a convenient link to the Live Legend concert information on their jackpots page! Harveys is the last of the casinos to offer dime slots, including video poker. For a great dinner break right off their casino floor, you should look no further than their "Seafood Grotto"... Greatest selection of all my favorites... And a to die for New England Clam Chowder.

Harrah’s Lake Tahoe continues to shine with its program with iwin@harrahs promotions... You can enter online or inside any Harrah’s.... Your email address might win you $5000! You can access their new iwin promotions on their Progressive Jackpots page on the TahoeGamingGuide.com! I have been talking to a couple of the people from Harrah’s Entertainment in Las Vegas recently, and hopefully, they too will soon join those sponsoring my website! They are always so professional and polished at Harrah’s, it is a delight to talk to them. If you haven’t been to Harrah’s Lake Tahoe for awhile, you will be amazed at its new look.... From the ground up things have been remodeled and upgraded... The place reflects the Harrah’s image of elegance.

Those visiting Caesars Tahoe can look forward to playing new "Aussie-style" machines that are really fun. Made by WMS, the one I find the most amusing and best-paying has to be "Swinging in the Green"... The bonus feature gives you four rounds of animated action and the payoff is lucrative in most cases for the player. Also to be found are new "Perfect Game" and "Money to Burn"... I didn’t get past the features on the first ones to even hardly notice the other two! You can find all kinds of information about Caesars "Road to Riches" slot tournament, where you can win $100,000 cash, and their NFL party information on their page, also.

‘Tis the day of the 45-coin progressive jackpot... I guess... It seemed unfair to me that it would take 45-coins to win the progressive amount on the Addam’s Family slots.... But somebody did it... And won, and there are more and more of them.... And here comes the announcement that more are on the way.... Rattling through the gambling pipes is the news that "I Dream of Jeannie" is going to be another 45-coin slot with a progressive starting at $100,000.... And even more nostalgia theme slots are on the way, all with jackpots starting at the hundred grand mark. I have to wonder what other gamblers think about the number of coins being 45... Also coming soon, a like-version of a more interactive "Jeopardy" with a more interactive Alex Trebek and more innovative bonus features (or so they say). What do you think? Email your opinion to me, and let me know if you like the new games. Or let me know if you hate them.  star@tahoegamingguide.com

Anyway, a pleasant fall persists at Lake Tahoe.... Though they say snow is just around the corner.... If you like to ski and snowboard, have a hankering for some good gambling, and want to do it all in the mountains... Just remember that there is only one place like that... And that is Lake Tahoe.
