We're in the Money

26 August 2000

Well, at least most Tahoe gamblers are in the money. Nobody has stopped the flow of cash that has continued all summer long. The money just keeps pouring out with no end in sight. I have witnessed so many jackpots being won, I have finally lost count. As long as it continues to flow like it has, who cares how many! It's all a matter of catching that nanosecond, and I guess people have their timing right. Maybe I just need new batteries... my timing isn't where it needs to be.

Touching base with Crystal Bay and Incline Village on the "other side of the lake" the Hyatt Regency in Incline Village decided to remove its poker room in the course of remodeling. The poker room over there was my favorite card room in terms of appearance. But rather than quitting the lake completely, the game just sort of moved. Now the Cal-Neva Lodge in Crystal Bay has a card room straddled by the California/Nevada state line, and game information will be available by Saturday on my TahoeGamingGuide.com website when you click on the "delivery truck" for the North and East Shore casino information. Also happening is what I heard to be a bi-weekly game being held in the smallest club in Crystal Bay, Jim Kelly's Tahoe Nugget and I will put the information about these games up by Saturday.

Also happening by Saturday should be my newly formed alliance with the Lakeside Inn on the South Shore. You can look for banners from them with all kinds of deals upcoming in the future.... Great food and lodging deals from the place that is "Always friendly, Always fun, Always...." I urge you to visit all my sponsors... They keep me alive!

Happening this weekend is the concert I have been yapping about and looking forward to at Harveys Resort Hotel/Casino. Bonnie Picker has done a fantastic job putting this thing together and deserves credit for the amount of energy she expended... There will be 3000 people in attendance on Friday night to see Peter Frampton, Credence Clearwater Revisited, and Edgar Winter. Another 3000 will return Saturday night to see Joe Walsh, BTO, and Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad. Next door to the concert, the Horizon Casino Resort is having its "Best on the Mountain" rib cook-off. Judging will be on Saturday, and the ribs will all be for sale on Sunday. Meanwhile, there is entertainment and a craft fair. Bring your gamblin' shoes and your appetite...and don't forget to look up all the progressive jackpots on my website, so you get the bankroll ready.... It's gonna be a gas!

Caesars Tahoe just gave away close to $50,000 on a five-dollar slot and still has that incredible Lamborghini Diablo rotating away on the casino floor waiting to be won for 5 quarters.... Harrah's Tahoe is really nice now that they have re-done everything to the tune of $30 million.... And you can get a real taste of a Broadway show if you can get away from their fine selection of slots and table games long enough to enjoy "Smokey Joe's café".

I would love to hear what everybody has to say about the slots in their areas. What do you like, and what do you hate? What pays and plays for you? Feel free to drop all comments and questions my way that you have, if I don't have answers, I will get answers. It's time the gamblers of the world spoke out and added input... It is our gaming environment, let's mold it together!

Oh, in case anyone else is counting with me... I have put the progressive jackpots online daily for 203 straight days now, and until now, no one has paid us a dime. Talk about undying devotion to putting Tahoe on the gambling map.... Geez.....Come on, Corporate America.... You are lagging!
